Take an adventure around Italy with Marco and the team at Pallant Restaurant in celebration of Marco’s birthday and Italy’s Liberation day. In true Italian spirit, one single day of celebrating is not sufficient, hence Settimana Italiana (Italian Week), a seven day celebration running from Tuesday 25th April until Monday 1st May, returning to our usual restaurant menus on Tuesday 2nd May.
In honour of these events we have rounded up some of the best, authentic Italian recipes and wines for you to enjoy. Start your meal with Focaccia con all’ ascolana, a typical speciality dish of meat-stuffed, breaded and fried olives originating in Ascoli Piceno in the Marche region of Italy in 1800. Enjoy our own homemade arancini al granchio, these stuffed rice balls originated in 10th century Sicily and are filled with crab, breadcrumbed then deep fried. Finish off your meal with a Zabaglione, an incredibly tasty light custard Italian dessert. We have a variety of traditional starters, salads, sharing boards, mains and desserts for you to choose from and of course we will have a selection of Italian wines to pair with these dishes. Pallant café will also be participating in Italian week serving snacks and light dishes with an Italian theme.
We anticipate the restaurant to be very busy this week and we do advise you book your table in advance to avoid disappointment. Marco would love to share his birthday celebrations with you and we do hope to see you for lunch or dinner.
